Why did interim leader of Bangladesh Muhammad Yunus say this?

New Delhi: Interim Prime Minister of Bangladesh Muhammad Yunus took charge of the conflict-torn country in the capital Dhaka on Thursday, August 08.
Before assuming office, Mohammad Yunus expressed his disappointment and anguish over India's lack of voice over the country's unrest.
“I was hurt when India called the protest an internal matter of Bangladesh. We cannot forgive India for this. If there is a fire in the brother's house, how can we say that it is an internal matter. India did not support us. We want to feel like a family, enjoy each other's company like the European Union,” he said
The 84-year-old Nobel laureate and founder of Grameen Bank said this during an interview with The Indian Express from Paris on August 5.
Yunus said the situation in Bangladesh was due to the “absence of democracy” and warned that the unrest would “spread” to neighboring countries as well.
Bangladesh's new interim leader arrived in the capital Dhaka on Thursday, August 8. He was received by military officers, government officials and student leaders.
Muhammad Yunus is an economist and Bangladesh's only Nobel laureate who was a staunch critic of ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
He was recommended for the top post by students who led the campaign against Sheikh Hasina.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Professor Yunus on his assumption of responsibility as the Chief Advisor to the newly formed Interim Government of Bangladesh and wished for the return of normalcy and security to the Hindu and other minority communities in the neighboring country.
Bangladesh President Mohammad Shahabuddin appointed Yunus on August 5 after Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina resigned and fled the country to India.
“Let us make the best of our new victory,” he said in a statement to Reuters before leaving Paris, where he was receiving medical treatment while on bail from criminal charges brought under Hasina.
“I appeal to everyone to remain calm. Please refrain from all forms of violence,” he said.
