Vikram Bhatt spills the beans on actresses' vanity clash over lipstick and eyeshadow shades: 'If they're not comfortable…'
Vikram Bhatt, the mastermind behind Bloody Ishq, shed light on an experience where he was seen fighting between the two leading ladies on the sets, all because of matters related to their egos.
In a recent conversation, renowned director Vikram Bhatt highlighted experiencing high levels of ego during a shooting session. In particular, they noted the differences between the female lead actors, which unfortunately disrupted the smooth flow of the production process. The situation confirms the old idea that the two actresses may find it challenging to maintain a friendly relationship.
During a chat with News18, Vikram Bhatt took a trip down memory lane while recounting an incident between the two leading ladies. Without access to the make-up van, he had the unique experience of working in several films starring two actresses. Bhatt highlighted an interesting aspect of such incidents, where the actresses seemed indifferent to each other's looks, yet frequently expressed interest in each other's outfit choices and hairstyles.
Vikram shared an interesting secret – on the sets of the film, the actresses used to subtly change their eyeshadow and lipstick shades to outdo each other. Unfortunately, these minor contests created continuity problems in the film. Vikram said, “We took everything into account but we let it go because after a while, we realized as directors and producers that we need to make the actors comfortable in their skin and if they are not comfortable, they cannot act. And if it takes the right shade of lipstick to do it, so be it (sic).”
The director breathed a sigh of relief as his latest project 'Bloody Ishq' featuring actress Avika Gor went off without a hitch. This successful collaboration is their second venture together after the hit film 'Balika Vadhu'.
Avika received praise for her humility and commitment during her work, illustrated by her experiences on the sets of 1920 and Bloody Ishq. Although she wore a blood-soaked outfit for much of the film, she never demanded a costume change or altered her look. For him, this act shows her unwavering dedication to acting, prioritizing her celebrity image. He believed that such quality was hard to come by.
