Actor Tilotama Shome recently appeared in an interview with Hauterrfly. During the conversation, she revealed a painful incident that affected her. The actress revealed that she faced a harrowing experience when she was molested in Delhi.
Tilotham opened up about the incident in an interview and said that it happened while waiting for a bus in Delhi during winter. While she was waiting for the bus, a car pulled up next to her and other men started harassing her. “Then they started calling. Someone threw a small stone. I went a little too far. I was like, I have to get out of here. Now either I run, but they can outrun me. So I decided to stand in the middle of the road and cycle,” she said.
She said that while several cars passed by, none of them bothered to stop. Later she saw a medical car approaching and immediately got into it and sat in the front seat with a stranger.
“We moved a little bit. He took my hand, and he unzipped his pants, and I think he wanted me to do anything. The moment he forced my hand, it was like an instinct struck, struck out. I don't know what I did, but something happened and he had to stop the car. Whatever it is, it's reversed. And he asked me to get out,” Tilotama said.
Calling it a terrifying experience, she said she was shaken by it. Recalling the incident, she added, “I thought it would be safer since he was a doctor. I got into the car and sat on the front seat. But, the driver then unzipped his pants and tried to forcefully take my hand. My instincts kicked in and I hit him. Due to the incident he had to stop the car and asked me to get out. It was a horrible experience and I was shaken. But my instinct to fight back helped me get out of a dangerous situation.”
