Stree 2 According to Sacknilk's report, about 50,000 tickets have been sold for the opening day (without block seats) until 5pm on August 10 (not including previews). A total of 1.75 crore tickets were sold. The horror comedy has already surpassed its last opening day booking total Surf (starring Akshay Kumar; around 50 lakhs) and Auron mein kahan dum tha (starrer Ajay Devgn; estimated at 70 lakhs), with more than three days left for its scheduled release on August 15.
Dinesh Vijan's horror comedy looks to be the film that will give a much-needed boost to the struggling screening sector, with guaranteed first-day sales. A pre-sales cycle will dictate whether the film earns Rs 30 crore or Rs 35 crore, even if an opening of Rs 25 crore is assured.

MsStarring Abhishek Banerjee, Aparshakti Khurana and Pankaj Tripathi, it was one of the most critically and commercially successful films of 2018. Apart from Rajkumar and Shraddha Kapoor, all three actors are returning for the sequel. Directed by Amar Kaushik, the film is set in Chanderi, a small town in Madhya Pradesh, where men are abducted by an evil spirit named Madhyaratri Stri during the festive season. It was based on the Nale Baa urban story popular in Karnataka in the 1990s.
