Salman Khan has recently expressed his suspicion that gangster, Lawrence Bishnoi was the mastermind behind the shooting at his Mumbai residence a few months ago, with the intention of targeting him and his family.

A few months ago, the duo had opened fire outside Salman Khan's Galaxy apartment in Mumbai. Police arrested him as the matter came into the limelight. Now, Salman Khan has finally opened up on the matter and said that he believes gangster Lawrence Bishnoi opened fire outside his house with the intention of killing him and his family.

Salman Khan has given a statement, which is part of the police investigation and charge sheet. Last month, the Mumbai Crime Branch's anti-extortion cell recorded the actor's statement. Now, in an exclusive report by India Today, Salman Khan has revealed that he and his family have been receiving threats from Lawrence Bishnoi and his gang members for years. He also mentioned that he advised his family members and relatives to 'always be vigilant. The actor also said that he was sleeping at his home when the attack took place.

Salman Khan's statement in the charge sheet

“I heard a sound like firecrackers. Then, at around 4.55 am, a police bodyguard said two men on a bike opened fire on the first-floor balcony of Galaxy Apartments. There were attempts to hurt me and my family before. I understand that Lawrence Bishnoi took responsibility for this attack from social media. Therefore, I believe that the Lawrence Bishnoi gang fired on my balcony,” the statement said.

Salman revealed that later that day, he learned that it was Lawrence Bishnoi and his brother Anmol Bishnoi, who claimed responsibility for the attack through a Facebook post.

“Even earlier, Lawrence Bishnoi and his gang members had talked about killing me and my relatives in an interview. So, I believe that Lawrence Bishnoi with the help of his gang members staged the shooting while my family members were sleeping inside and planned to kill me and my family members so they carried out the attack.

What was the case?

On June 4, a four-member team of the Crime Branch recorded the statements of Salman Khan and his brother Arbaaz Khan. An official noted that the actor's statement took about four hours, while his brother's statement took two hours. Salman Khan cited several instances of threats from Lawrence Bishnoi and his gang. In his statement, the actor mentioned that in 2022, his father, Salim Khan, found a letter threatening his family on a bench in front of their apartment building.

“Subsequently, in March 2023, I received a threatening email from Lawrence Bishnoi to me and my family on the official email of an employee in my team. In this regard, my team member has registered a case at Bandra police station,” read the statement signed by the actor.

After this incident, Salman has asked the family and other relatives to always be vigilant.
