Schools in Haridwar closed from 27th July for Kanwar Yatra, check when classes will start

Haridwar: Schools in Haridwar will remain closed from July 27 to August 2 due to the rush of Shiv devotees during the ongoing Kanwar Yatra. Kanwar Yatra was set off by devotees to the pilgrimage site on Monday to collect water from the holy river Ganga.
Classes will resume on August 2
District Magistrate Dheeraj Singh Garbiyal said that it was decided to close the school as the crowd would increase in the coming days.

Traffic Advice for Kanwar Yatra
In another development, the Delhi Police issued a traffic advisory regarding the elaborate arrangements for the upcoming Kanwar Yatra and warned that crowds are expected at many places.
The Kanwar Yatra will begin on the first day of Sawan (Shravan) on Monday and will end on August 2 with the offering of holy Ganga water to Lord Shankar.
A large number of Kanwariyas will reach Delhi, while some will cross the Delhi border to Haryana and Rajasthan. This year, the expected number of people is around 15-20 lakh, the advisory said.
The advisory said that during the Kanwariyan protest, violations of traffic rules would be subject to on-the-spot action and violations would be investigated through photography or videography.
Devotees carrying Kanwars will take several routes including Apsara Border, Shahdara Flyover, Seelampur 'T' Point, ISBT Flyover Boulevard Road, Rani Jhansi Road, Faiz Road, Upper Ridge Road, Dhaula Kuan, NH-8 and exit Rajokari Border. For Haryana, the advisory said.
Heavy Transport Vehicles (HTV) will be diverted from Mohan Nagar to NH-24 by Uttar Pradesh Police to facilitate the Yatra of Kanwariyan and no such traffic will be allowed to proceed via Wazirabad Road via Bhopura and GT Road via Apsara Border. , read the advisory.
