Schools closed in Karnataka's Shivamogga due to heavy rains, see when classes will resume
Karnataka School Holiday Latest News: Another holiday has been declared for schools in four taluks of Malnad division of Hassan district on Tuesday.
Karnataka School Holidays: Due to ongoing rains in Karnataka, schools have been declared holiday on July 16 in Hosnagra taluk of Shivamogga, Karnataka. Tehsildar Rashmi Halesh of Hosnagar has issued a notification to close schools and warned people to be careful. Schools are likely to start after July 17.
Apart from this, another holiday has been declared for schools in four taluks of Malnad area of ​​Hassan district on Tuesday.
Hassan District Deputy Director of Public Instruction (DDPI) issued a holiday notification for all government, aided and unaided primary and higher secondary schools in Hassan, Alur, Sakleshpur and Arakalagudu taluks. This development has come as Karnataka has been receiving heavy rains for the past week.
On Monday, Uttara Kannada District Deputy Commissioner (DC) Lakshmipriya declared holiday for all schools and PU colleges in Karwar, Ankola, Kumta, Honnavar, Bhatkal, Sirsi, Siddapur, Yellapur, Dandeli and Joida talukas following the 'red alert'. It was issued by India Meteorological Department (IMD).
Besides, the IMD has issued heavy rain and red alert for Uttara Kannada district from 1 pm on July 14 to 8:30 pm on July 16.
According to the Met office, heavy rains are likely to continue till July 16 over coastal Karnataka, Malnad districts and interior Karnataka.
