Mumbai : India's newly appointed head coach Gautam Gambhir had requested seniors like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah to return to the ODI squad for the tour of Sri Lanka. According to a Hindustan Times report, Rohit has agreed to Gambhir's request and will join the ODI set-up as captain. But with Rohit set to return, Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah are unlikely to make themselves available for the three-match ODI series.
The selectors will meet Gambhir on Thursday before the squad is announced. India will play three T20Is in Sri Lanka from July 27 before the ODIs begin from August 2.
