Ranbir Kapoor is one of those actors who easily shapes himself for any character. In a career spanning more than a decade, Ranbir has given some hit films. However, recently Ranbir spoke about his Bollywood journey and who he sees as a good rival in the industry.

During a recent conversation with Nizil Kamath on his podcast – People By WTF, Ranbir was asked which actor he feels is his competition. On this, Ranbir said that the industry has various talented actors including Vicky Kaushal, Ranveer Singh and Karthik Aaryan. Elaborating on the answer, Animal said that it's not always about the actors and their skills but also the films and opportunities they have.

He pointed out that an actor may not gain instant recognition, but the right part at the right moment can change people's opinions. Additionally, Kapoor emphasized talking about Karthik Aryan and said that he enjoys charisma and has a distinct personality on screen.

Ranbir also faced criticism on the film Animal. He said social media played a major role in bringing all the negative reactions.

He said, “Social media has wreaked havoc. They needed something to talk about, so they really went to town and claimed it was a bad movie. What happens is that the hard work you put in.. I know the director who made Kabir Singh, who faced the same thing, the hard work falls short. Because he gets this tag, which is not true, the perception stayed with the film. So the general public will speak very fondly about the film, but I meet many people who say, 'You shouldn't have done this film, we are very disappointed in you.'

He added, “And a lot of people in the film industry (said the same). I apologize quietly and say, 'Sorry, I won't do that next time.' I don't really agree with them, but I'm at a point in my life where I don't argue with anyone. If you don't like my work, I'll say sorry and try harder next time.”
