Rajasthan announced reservation for fire fighters in Jails and Forest Guards, State Police Recruitment

Jaipur: Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma has said that the Rajasthan government will provide reservation for fire fighters in the recruitment of jails and forest guards and state police, PTI reported. A statement issued by the Chief Minister's Office on Saturday announced that Sharma made an important announcement for fire fighters on the occasion of Kargil Victory Day, which is celebrated on July 26 every year.
“Rajasthan Government has provided reservation in State Police, Jail Guards and Forest Guards Recruitment for Firefighters who guard the country's borders with dedication and patriotism,” PTI quoted him as saying. “This decision of the state government under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi will give the firemen an opportunity to work in the state after serving the country,” Sharma said in a statement.
Several states including Arunachal Pradesh, Odisha, Gujarat, Assam and Madhya Pradesh have also claimed to have made similar announcements for the recruitment of retired firemen in their respective police forces. Government of Arunachal Pradesh will also provide training facility to local youth to prepare them for recruitment under Agneepath Yojana.
Sharing a post on X, the Chief Minister said, “The Arunachal Pradesh government will provide training facilities to prepare local youth for recruitment as fire fighters under Agnipath Yojana.”

Additionally, retired firefighters from Arunachal Pradesh will be given preference in recruitment of Arunachal Pradesh Police, AP Battalion and Emergency and Fire Services,” he added.
What is Agniveer Yojana?
In 2022, the Center unveiled the Agneepath scheme for recruitment of youth between the ages of 17 and 21 in the Army, Navy and Air Force, largely on a four-year contract basis. Recruits under the scheme will be known as Agniveer. After completion of their four-year tenure, 25 percent of the appointees in each batch will be given regular service.
The Union Home Ministry had announced that 10 percent of the vacancies for recruitment in the Central Armed Police Force or Paramilitary Forces would be reserved for ex-servicemen.
