Pakistan: The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has introduced new guidelines to resolve complaints related to boarding issues related to Passenger Number Record (PNR) details, ARY News reported. In recent guidelines, the CAA has decided that no passenger shall be denied boarding due to discrepancies between ticket booking and PNR at the time of travel.
According to ARY News, the CAA has taken this decision following numerous complaints from passengers who were denied boarding because their PNR details differed between booking and travel.. According to ARY News, the CAA has issued directives to all airlines to ensure that passengers are not denied boarding based on PNR discrepancies.
As per the CAA's guidelines, airlines are now required to strictly adhere to these directives. The CAA has also mandated that airlines update their PNR policies on their websites, ensuring transparency and preventing future inconvenience to passengers.
In addition, travel Agents have been instructed to follow these policies during the booking process, which will reduce the chances of passengers facing problems during boarding.
Meanwhile, according to recent reports, the process of privatization of Pakistan's debt market is underway International Airlines (PIA) will be completed by October 31, according to Privatization Commission Secretary Dr Usman Akhtar Bajwa told the Senate Standing Committee on Privatization, Dawn reported.
