Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Imran Khan has been abducted from Lahore
MNA's Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf member Amir Sultan was “abducted” by unknown persons in Lahore.
Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Member of National Assembly (MNA) Amir Sultan was abducted by unidentified persons in Lahore on Sunday, GO News reported citing a senior party leader. PTI Lahore Secretary General Hafiz Zeeshan said Sultan was abducted while on his way to his home on Sarwar Road.
Notably, he was elected as a Member of the Lower House of Parliament from NA-110 in Jhang.
“Unidentified people came in two vehicles and abducted them last night,” the PTI leader said, adding that party members were “insecure” after the Supreme Court's order on reserved seats.
The Supreme Court has declared that the PTI is eligible for reserved seats, which means that if the party wins those seats, it will be the single largest party in the National Assembly.
In response, SSP Cantt Awais Shafiq told Geo News that the police did not detain the PTI MNA and did not receive any complaint of his abduction.
Asked why no complaint has been filed so far, Zeeshan told Geo News that the party is drafting the complaint and will submit it to the police station on July 15.
In a statement, PTI supremo Asad Qaiser said he had received information about the abduction of his party's MNA, he questioned.[how] Can a country survive where the loyalties of politicians are switched?
“Here is the law of the jungle; There is no respect for the judiciary. There is blatant opposition to court decisions,” said the former NA speaker.
The Kaiser strongly criticized the government's methods of running the country and questioned whether it would rely on force. Still, he remained committed to his party's strong stance of staying within the country's legal framework. He underscored the urgency to move beyond mere condemnation and turn our efforts to defiance.
