New Delhi: Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus said on Tuesday that he is ready to lead an interim government in Bangladesh, a day after Sheikh Hasina resigned as prime minister, news agency AFP reported.
“I am honored by the confidence of the protesters who want to lead the interim government,” he said in a written statement to AFP.
“In Bangladesh, if action is required for the courage of my country and my people, I will take it,” he added, advocating “free elections”.
