Muhammad Yunus appointed four more advisers to the Interim Government of Bangladesh
The number of members in the advisory committee of the interim government has increased to 21.
Dhaka: Chief Advisor in Bangladesh Prof. The interim government led by Muhammad Yunus was expanded on Friday with four more advisers joining the team.
The four new advisers are Wahiduddin Mahmood, an economist; Ali Imam Majumdar, former Cabinet Secretary; Muhammad Fauzul Kabir Khan, former Energy Secretary; and Lt. Gen. Jahangir Alam Chaudhary.
With the addition of these four persons, the Advisory Committee of the Interim Government now has 21 members.
Yunus, along with 13 other advisers, was sworn in on August 8, just four days after the Sheikh Hasina-led government fell due to a revolt over quota reforms in government jobs. An additional two advisers took their oaths on August 11, and another took oath the next day.
President Mohammad Shahabuddin presided over the swearing-in ceremony of four new advisers at Bang Bhavan, the presidential residence.
Economist Wahiduddin Mahmood, who served as an adviser to the 1996 caretaker government, and Ali Imam Majumdar, who was appointed as special assistant to the chief adviser to the current interim government on 12 August, were appointed. Portal
