Mumbai : Born in an ordinary family in Mumbai, Nirvana Parekh left a prestigious job at Apple to set up a Rs 9000 crore business. He created and named a platform that connects blue collar job seekers with companies 'our'. In just 22 months, since its inception, the startup's valuation grew to USD 1.1 billion (approximately ₹9,016 crore). Today, more than 1,50,000 companies are registered on 'Apna', including big names like Unacademy, BigBasket, Licious, WhiteHat Jr, Flipkart, Zomato and Delhivery. In this article, we take a look at the journey of a created Parekh who promises to inspire many other young entrepreneurs.

Built Path: Early Life

Nirmit Parekh always wanted to do something different. Parekh built a digital watch when he was just 7 years old and learned robotics programming at the age of 13. Nirman completed his B.Tech from Nirma Institute of Technology, Gujarat. At the age of 21, he launched his first startup, Incone Technologies, a company developing solutions for flood management.

Soon after, Nirmith started another company called Cruxbox, which he later sold to Intel. He then joined Intel as Director of Data Analytics. At this time he also completed his MBA from Stanford University. After his MBA, Parekh joined Apple, where he became part of the iPhone product and strategy team.

However, after seeing the problems in India's blue-collar job sector, Nirvana Parikh decided to quit his job at Apple and return to India. Their mission was to create a platform that could connect workers in the unorganized blue-collar sector with employers. They launched 'Apna' just before the Covid-19 pandemic.

'Apna' has grown tremendously in just 22 months. Growing at an impressive rate of 125% in two years, Apna is now used by more than 150,000 companies across India. Major names like Unacademy, BigBasket, Licious, WhiteHat Jr, Flipkart, Shadowfax, Zomato, Delhivery, G4S Global, and Burger King.
