Success Stories: In today's world, stepping into the business is not easy due to the huge competition. It's often said that a great idea, not money, is the key to starting a business — but is this really practical? A man from Haryana has proved his brilliant idea by turning it into a business with a turnover of 15 crores. Today he earns crores by selling pizzas. However, starting his pizza business was not without its challenges, as he faced many obstacles in his journey to success. We are talking about Pizza Galleria founder Sandeep Jangra, who turned his failure into success with a brilliant business idea. Let's hear his story.
Who is Sandeep Jangra?
Sandeep Jangra is a resident of Gohana town in Sonepat, Haryana. He comes from a lower-middle class family. Jangra's father was a carpenter who made traditional Indian beds (charpoys). Running a household on a single father's income was difficult. Sandeep decided to earn money to support his family and started working in a factory at a very young age. However, his family did not know that he was working.
Failure in Engineering
Sandeep started studying for an engineering degree in 2009, but failed the exams repeatedly due to his lack of interest. Lack of interest took him six to seven years to complete the four-year degree. After graduation, he started working in a company in Gurugram. However, after working for two years without a pay rise, he decided to quit his job and return home.
Mother gave her entire savings
Sandeep's father hoped that he would open a carpentry shop like his own, but Sandeep had different dreams. In 2015, while living in Gurugram, he tasted pizza for the first time and it sparked a new passion in him. Sandeep had an idea to start his own pizza business. Deep into pizza making training, he decided to bring this global delicacy to his own small town. To fulfill her son's dream, Sandeep's mother gave all her savings to open her own pizza shop in their hometown.
A multi-crore company
In 2015, Sandeep introduced Pizza Galleria in his hometown – Gohana, ushering in a new era in the pizza business. Before the grand opening, they launched a strong marketing campaign to introduce and promote the pizza concept among the locals, which was highly successful. Eventually, the business expanded to Sonepat, marking its second outlet. Today, the growing business operates 32 outlets across the country and employs nearly 600 people. An important boost to the brand's reputation was Sandeep's appearance in the television show 'Shark Tank'. As of now, Pizza Galleria has an impressive annual turnover of around Rs 25 crore.
