Actress Kavita Kaushik announced her retirement from TV and expressed interest in web shows or films but admitted that her unique personality makes it difficult to be cast in various roles.

Actor Kavita Kaushik, Best known for her role as Inspector Chandramukhi Chautala in the popular TV show FIR, has decided to leave the television industry. In a recent interview with now time She cited demanding work hours and recurring roles as reasons behind her decision. She said that she is cast as Dayan (Witch) in TV shows, which she feels is limiting. “TV to mujhe karna hi nahi hai (I am not at all interested in working in the TV industry). I cannot work for 30 days,” Kavita said.

She expressed interest in web shows or films but admitted that her unique personality makes it difficult to work in different roles. She recalled her days on FIR, saying that even though the show didn't take long, she found it challenging.

Kavita also criticized the current state of TV content and called it regressive. She recalls a time when TV offered different types of shows for different audiences. “But now, the kind of content we're showing is really bad for younger generations to watch,” she said. According to her, shows now promote negativity and hatred, which she feels is harmful to society.

She admits to having contributed to this regression in some way and expressed regret for it. “Jo bhi bolo, hum Bharatiya hain aur hum lagta hai jo TV par dikh raha hai wo sach hain (At the end of the day, we are Indians and we think whatever is shown on television is true). We get inspired by it subconsciously,” said Kavita, highlighting the impact TV has on viewers.

Kavita's decision marks a significant shift in her career as she now focuses on more meaningful and less time-consuming projects outside the traditional TV industry.
