Karan Singh Grover recently opened up about one of the toughest times in his life. The actor recalled that his daughter Devi had to undergo open-heart surgery when she was a newborn. In an interview with Dainik Bhaskar, Karan shared that he and his wife Bipasha Basu went through a challenging moment when Devi had a big scar on her body after the operation.

When Karan was asked what it means to be a fighter and has he ever faced any adversity from which he emerged victorious, he replied, “Something always happens. I am very lucky that nothing too bad has happened in my life. But there was a time when our daughter had a big problem. That time was very difficult for us. My daughter had serious health problems and it is difficult to describe in words what she suffered during that time.”

He added, “My daughter is a real fighter. She has a long scar on her chest that extends down to her stomach. Whatever we think and achieve in our life is nothing compared to her. What she and her mother (Bipasha Basu) went through cannot be compared. Nothing like this has ever happened in my life; I am very lucky. My daughter has proved that she is a true fighter.”

Bipasha Basu has also spoken about Devi's heart condition. During an Instagram interaction with Neha Dhupia, the single actress got emotional and said, “Our journey is very different from any normal mom and dad; That's a lot harder than the smile I have on my face. I wouldn't wish this on any mother. For a new mom, when you find out… I found out on the third day after the baby was born that our baby was born with two holes in her heart. I thought I wouldn't share this, but I'm sharing this because I feel like there are so many moms who have helped me on this journey, and those moms are so hard to find…”

As for Karan and Bipasha's relationship, the couple met on the sets of Alone and eventually fell in love. Later in 2016, they made their relationship official and got married. After six years of marriage, the couple welcomed a daughter, whom they named Devi, on 12 November 2022. Karan has been married three times. His first wife was Shraddha Nigam and his second wife was Jennifer Winget.
