Kangana Ranaut has revealed that her film Emergency was not cleared by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

Ahead of the release, the actor took to X (formerly known as Twitter) on Thursday and revealed that her film has not been cleared by the Central Board. Film Certification (CBFC). In a video shared by the actress, she is heard saying that certain scenes in the film have led to death threats from the censor board. The actress said, “There are some rumors that my film Emergency has been cleared by the Censor Board, but it is not true. In fact, our film was initially cleared, but the certificate has been put on hold due to death threats from the censor board.”
She added, “We are being pressured to remove Indira Gandhi's assassination, Punjab riots and some other scenes. Now I don't know what else to show. What should we do – black out the movie during these scenes? This is unbelievable to me and I deeply regret the current thinking in this country.”
Kangana Ranaut's film Emergency has created controversy as it faces possible bans, especially in Telangana. An 18-member delegation of the Telangana Sikh Society, led by former IPS officer Tejdeep Kaur Menon, has demanded a ban on the film, accusing it of portraying the Sikh community as terrorists and traitors.
Meanwhile, Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has also assured the Sikh community that he is considering banning Kangana's film. The film has already created a stir in the Sikh community due to certain scenes shown in the trailer.
