Kangana Ranaut has raised eyebrows with her upcoming film 'Emergency'. The actress has been appearing in various interviews and in one such conversation she revealed that she has rejected a film with anyone other than Shah Rukh Khan. During a chat show, the actress mentioned that she was offered roles in films starring Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar. However, she rejected both the offers.
In an episode of Aap Ki Adalat, Kangana said, “Salman offered me a role in Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Shah Rukh offered me a role in Zero.” When asked if she has ever turned down a film starring Akshay Kumar, she replied, “Akshay Kumar offered me a role in Singh Is Bling. As a female actress, I created my own unique entity (existence) in the industry. No one wants to make a film on an old woman who became prime minister three times (Indira Gandhi).
The actress also opened up about her struggles in the industry. However, she revealed that after Queen, her acting career took a U-turn and things got a little smoother for her. “In 2006, when I was struggling for roles, nobody offered me anything, not even a supporting role. When my film 'Queen' became successful in 2014, the offers came. I thought I had a unique opportunity. Like Vyjayanthimala and Sridevi, they used to make their own films. Will Aamir Khan give me the best performance? Salman is a larger than life star. Temptations… they are industry giants. Salman is my dear friend, Aamir is very nice,” she said.
Kangana had earlier claimed that she was offered a role in Ranbir Kapoor's Sanju. She was approached for the role of a journalist, a role that eventually went to Anushka Sharma. Meanwhile, Kangana's upcoming film 'Emergency' is slated to release on September 6. The actress not only acts in the film but also directs it.
