When the audience asked her to share her thoughts on marriage, she said, “Kya kahu main ab iss bare main? See, meri shaadi ko leker bohot achhe khayal hai… mujhe lagta hai ki har ek ko saathi ki zhor hoti hai. Mujhe lagta hai bacheh hona chahiye, leka ab logo ne tetan rak kar kar hai hai, meri shadi nahi hona dete hai” (Now what can I say about this? My views on marriage are very positive. I think everyone should have a partner. I also want people to have children, but I'm so disgraced that I can't get married).
she added, “Mere court cases so a ja jate hai jab bhi ki saath meri baat banni hoti hai, to police ghar pe a ja jati hai, ut ke le jati hai, summons a ja jate hai. Ek bar to hone wale sas-in-law bhi mere ghar pe aur wo saman aa gaye, to phir wo bhag gaye. This is also a side effect.” (I have several court cases against me that whenever I start getting close to someone, the police come to my house or I get summons. Once my in-laws were at my house and when the summons came, they ran away. However, she later clarified that it was just a joke.
About the emergency
Kangana Ranaut's film Emergency explores the events of former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, who imposed a 21-month Emergency between 1975 and 1977. The film was initially slated to hit the big screens on September 6, 2024. However, due to backlash from Sikh groups and the need for approval from the Central Board of Film Certification, the film's release date has been postponed.
