Tel Aviv: The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) began targeted ground operations in southern Lebanon on Tuesday, targeting Hezbollah strongholds and infrastructure identified by accurate intelligence. According to the IDF, the limited and localized raids, focused on villages near the border, are aimed at endangering Israeli communities in the northern territories.

In a post on X, the IDF wrote, “According to the decision of the political group, a few hours ago, the IDF launched limited, localized and targeted ground raids based on accurate intelligence against Hezbollah terrorist targets and infrastructure in southern Lebanon. .”

“These targets are in villages near the border and pose an immediate threat to Israeli communities in northern Israel,” he added.

The Israeli military stressed that ground operations in southern Lebanon were proceeding according to a plan developed by the General Staff and the Northern Command.

“The IDF is operating according to a systematic plan set by the General Staff and the Northern Command for which IDF soldiers have trained and prepared in recent months. The Israeli Air Force and IDF artillery are supporting the ground forces with precision strikes on military targets in the area,” the IDF said.

The IDF reaffirmed its commitment to Operation Northern Arrows, adjusting tactics as necessary and simultaneously countering threats in Gaza and other areas. “These operations were approved and carried out as per the decision of the political group. “Operation “Northern Arrow” will continue in parallel with the assessment of the situation and fighting in Gaza and other areas,” it said.
The IDF added, “The IDF is working to achieve the objectives of the war and is doing everything necessary to protect the citizens of Israel and to allow the citizens of northern Israel to return to their homes.”

Earlier in a precision strike, the IDF destroyed a Hezbollah surface-to-air missile storage facility located approximately 1.5 kilometers from Beirut's international airport.

In a post on X, the IDF said, “A Hezbollah surface-to-air missile storage facility located approximately 1.5 km from Beirut's international airport was destroyed in a precision IDF strike.”

The IDF further asserted that the facility posed a threat to Lebanese and international airspace. “These infrastructures pose a threat to Lebanese and international airspace. The IDF will continue to degrade Hezbollah's military capabilities in Lebanon,” the IDF said.
