Stock market holiday on Monday: viz Janmashtami 2024 Looking at August 26, investors were looking to see if the stock market is closed on Monday or Tuesday for Dahi Handi. In August, the stock market observed its last holiday on August 15, on the occasion of Independence Day. After that only Saturday and Sunday were off for the weekend.

Although the stock market is closed on the occasion of various festivals, the stock market will not get a long weekend break till August 26. The stock market will continue to function in its regular hours on 26 August 2024 and will not assume any holiday thereafter Janmashtami 2024. No holiday will be observed on 27th August 2024 on Dahi Handi, Tuesday.

As per NSE and BSE stock market holiday list, there is only one trading holiday in August which falls on 15 August 2024. After 15 August 2024, the next trading holiday falls on 2 October 2024. This means the Indian stock market will remain open on this date. Also on Monday 26 August 2024 and 27 August 2024.

Commodity Market Trading on August 26, 2024

Commodity market trading will also continue throughout the day on August 26. This includes the Commodity Derivatives segment and Electronic Gold Receipts (EGR) segment on BSE as well as all Bullion, Metals and Energy Derivatives trading on Multi Commodity. The Exchange of India Limited (MCX), will remain operational during regular hours for both morning and evening sessions.

Upcoming stock market holiday in September 2024

The next holiday for the stock market is Gandhi Jayanti on October 2. After closing on October 2 on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, the market will also remain closed on November 1 for Diwali.
