Stock market holiday on Monday: viz Janmashtami 2024 Looking at August 26, investors were looking to see if the stock market is closed on Monday or Tuesday for Dahi Handi. In August, the stock market observed its last holiday on August 15, on the occasion of Independence Day. After that only Saturday and Sunday were off for the weekend.

Although the stock market is closed on the occasion of various festivals, the stock market will not get a long weekend break till August 26. Commodity Market Trading on August 26, 2024

Commodity market trading will also continue throughout the day on August 26. This includes the Commodity Derivatives segment and Electronic Gold Receipts (EGR) segment on BSE as well as all Bullion, Metals and Energy Derivatives trading on Multi Commodity. The Exchange of India Limited (MCX), will remain operational during regular hours for both morning and evening sessions.
