New Delhi: In a stunning incident, a 25-year-old pupil from Hyderabad, Mohammad Abdul Arfath , who went lacking final month, has been discovered useless within the US, the Indian embassy in New York mentioned on Tuesday.

Mohammed Abdul Arfath, who moved to the US in 2023 for a Grasp’s at Cleveland State College, went lacking for practically three weeks, and the embassy had earlier mentioned that it was in contact with Abdul’s household and was working with native legislation enforcement businesses to find him. This morning, the embassy mentioned he was discovered useless.

“Anguished to be taught that Mr. Mohammed Abdul Arfath, for whom search operation was underway, was discovered useless in Cleveland, Ohio. Our deepest condolences to Mr Mohammed Arfath’s household,” the Indian Ambassy in New York mentioned in a tweet.

“@IndiainNewYork is in contact with native businesses to make sure thorough investigation into Mr Mohammed Abdul Arfath’s dying. We’re extending all doable help to the bereaved household to move his mortal stays to India,” it added.

Notably, that is the eleventh Indian to die within the US this 12 months as many of the instances have been college students. The collection of deaths of the Indian college students have left Indians within the US and their households in India shocked and apprehensive.

As per the information obtainable from the US, over 2.6 lakh Indian college students migrated to the nation within the 2022-2023 session. This was a 35 per cent improve from the earlier session.
