On 1 January 2024, Gurugram model Divya Pahuja went out to celebrate New Year but did not return home.

Divya Pahuja, a model from Gurugram became the center of a shocking case that rocked Delhi-NCR and Haryana. After a rocky relationship with gangster Sandeep Gadoli, who was killed in a police encounter, Divya begins dating Abhijeet, the owner of Hotel City Point, unaware of the dangers ahead.

On 1 January 2024, Divya went out to celebrate New Year but did not return home. A search by her family led them to a hotel room where her body was later found in a canal.

Divya, who lives with her parents and sister Naina in Baldev Nagar, started her career in IT before modeling. Her life changed completely after her relationship with Sandeep Gadoli, who was killed in 2016. After his death, she faced police scrutiny and served seven years in prison, eventually being released on bail in June 2023.

After her release, Divya starts dating Abhijeet, but their relationship is strained when she accuses him of blackmailing her for Rs 30 lakh.

After partying with friends on New Year's Eve, Divya and Abhijit head to a hotel. The next day, Abhijeet comes out drunk and claims that there is a dead body in the hotel. The staff called the police but found nothing in the room Abhijeet had told them.

Later, Abhijeet returns with friends and asks the staff to move Divya's body to another room. Divya's sister Naina reported her missing and asked the police to investigate further. In the CCTV footage, lights are seen entering the room.

The police found the scene chaotic and arrested hotel employees Hemraj and Omprakash. Abhijit is caught at home, where he confesses to murdering Divya in a fit of rage after demanding money.

On January 2, Abhijeet's friends disposed of Divya's body in the Bhakra Canal, where it was found ten days later. After that, Abhijit and many other suspects were arrested and the case is currently in court.
