Boney Kapoor responded to these claims and found it funny and explained that Arshad was paid Rs. 25,000 per day, amounting to Rs. 75,000 for three days work. He also mentioned that Arshad was not a star then, questioning the claim of promising such a huge amount. Boney noted that Arshad had never brought up the issue before despite appearing in TV shows together with Malaika Arora and Farah Khan.
