Gaza: Hamas has called on Gaza ceasefire mediators to implement previously approved plans instead of moving to more rounds of negotiations or proposing new solutions. Since the beginning of the Gaza conflict, Hamas has been “keen to succeed in the efforts of mediators in Egypt and Qatar to reach a ceasefire agreement and end the war against the Gazans, and it has supported any effort to achieve this. Stop the war”, the group quoted Xinhua news agency as saying on Sunday.

Hamas has participated in several rounds of negotiations and provided all the “necessary flexibility and positivity” to achieve the goals and interests of the Gazans, it added.

Although Hamas and the mediators “know Israel's true intentions and position, the movement responded to the last agreement in early July, but Israel faced new conditions that were not proposed throughout the negotiation process and proceeded to escalate its war on Gaza”, the statement reads.

In light of this, and “concern and responsibility for the people of Gaza and their interests, the Movement calls upon the mediators to submit a plan to implement what they have presented to the Movement and compel Israel to do so”, it added, IANS news agency reported.

On August 8, the leaders of Egypt, Qatar, and the United States called on both Israel and Hamas to urgently finalize a ceasefire agreement and resume talks without further delay.

According to a joint statement issued by the Egyptian president, the three countries invited Israel and Hamas “to resume urgent talks on Thursday, August 15 in Doha or Cairo to close all remaining gaps and start implementing the agreement without further delay.”
