Delhi University office vandalism: DU forms committee to probe the case
New Delhi: The University of Delhi (UoD) on Monday set up a committee to probe the vandalism incident at the Delhi University Students' Union office on the night of July 13-14. On Sunday, ABVP member and Delhi University Students Union (DUSU) president Tushar Dedha made serious allegations against members of the National Students Union of India (NSUI), accusing them of internal sabotage and misbehaviour. The chairman of the newly formed committee Prof. Rajni Abi, Proctor as Chairman, Prof. Ranjan Kumar Tripathi, DEM Student Welfare, Prof. Surender Kumar, Staff Advisor, DUSU and Prof. Geeta Sahare, is a co-proctor member. The committee will submit the report within 7 days as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, the National Students Union of India (NSUI) has strongly condemned the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, alleging that ABVP members are trying to divert attention from the serious issue of fake degrees held by their office bearers in Delhi University.

In a detailed statement titled “Our response to ABVP's diversionary tactics”, the NSUI president wrote, “ABVP is known for spreading violence and intimidation of teachers and students on campuses across India. ABVP has beaten up and threatened professors in Delhi University in several incidents. They never address issues like NEET, NET or NTA scams; Instead they act as a safety valve for the BJP government.”
Requesting the authorities, National Students Union of India (NSUI) president, Varun Chaudhary wrote, “We request the authorities to conduct a thorough investigation into the fake degree scam at DUSU, to hold those responsible accountable. Our students are worthy representatives of integrity, not those with fake degrees and marksheets.
