Diljit Dosanjh was seen without a turban for the first time in an Imtiaz Ali film to shine, which was released on April 12. In the film, Diljit played the role of one of the most famous Punjabi singers, Amar Singh Chamkila. There were many Punjabi artists who spoke about his non turban look and the recent star who is the king of pop music Daler Mehndi. He recalled that he was angry the first time I saw Diljit without a turban in an OTT film. Daler Mehndi was outraged to see Diljit, who had never removed a turban before for any film or music video, doing so for the first time. Speaking to us, the singer said, “When I saw Chamkila Dekhi and Diljit without a turban, I got very angry because I should be devoted to Bande. Hamari bhi ek badi film aa rahi hai, yushen humne kabhi pagdi nahi utari, fante mein bhi kuch kardu. Jo rab ne sardari bakshi hai, aske same role choti-moti baati hoti hai. God bless them” (When I saw Chamki and Diljit without his turban, I was very angry because one has to be dedicated. I also have a big film coming up, and I have never taken off my turban, even though I had to. What does God have our turban compared to this role? A minor detail, God bless him.)

Daler Mehndi also recalled his first meeting with Diljit Dosanjh in a hotel five years ago. “When I went out, I felt like I had seen him (Diljit) before. He was wearing a hat, and I assumed that if he was a familiar actor, he would surely recognize me. However, he walked away without recognizing me. Main to pagadi pehni thi, un topi dekhni thi, Aisa to nahi hai ki wo muje na pamana, par wo nikal gaye.” He added, “When I heard his music later, I was very impressed. May God bless him with more success.”

On the commercial front, Daler Mehndi's latest track Ankhiyaan Te Ja Ladiyaan Released on 25th July.
