CBI nabs 'mastermind' of NEET-UG paper leak, 2 MBBS students who acted as 'solvers'

NEET-UG Paper Leak: Two “Solvers” Arrested

The two were part of the solver module in which five MBBS students have already been arrested. The answers were given to NEET UG aspirants who availed the gang's services, reports said.
He also said that the third person arrested on Saturday – Shashikant Paswan alias Shashi alias Pasu, a BTech (Electrical) passout from National Institute of Technology, Jamshedpur – was working with Kumar and Rocky, who was also arrested earlier. .
The agency has alleged that Paswan is one of the kingpins and masterminds in the paper leak case. The paper leak case was taken over by CBI from Bihar Police.
CBI has already arrested Pankaj Kumar who stole the paper and Raju Singh who helped him in the process. One of the masterminds – Rocky – was also arrested by the agency. On Thursday, it arrested Kumar's aide Surender Sharma in Hazaribagh.
CBI files a series of FIRs
The Central Investigation Agency has filed six FIRs probing the alleged irregularities in the medical entrance examination. The FIRs in Bihar are related to paper leaks while the rest are related to impersonation and cheating of candidates in Gujarat, Rajasthan and Maharashtra. The agency's own FIR, on the Union Education Ministry's reference, pertains to a “comprehensive probe” of alleged irregularities in NEET-UG 2024.
NEET-UG is conducted by NTA for admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH and other related courses in government and private institutes. This year the exam was conducted on May 5 at 4,750 centers in 571 cities including 14 cities abroad. More than 23 lakh candidates appeared for this exam.
