IAS officer Anamika Ramesh graduated with a B.Tech degree in Electronics and Communication from National Institute of Technology (NIT) Tiruchirappalli. She later did her MBA from Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad. Although she initially worked in the private sector, Anamika realized that her job did not allow her to make the social impact she wanted. Driven by the desire to bring about meaningful change in society, she decided to enter the civil services. In 2017, she moved to Delhi to begin her civil services preparation, enrolling in coaching for the UPSC exam. Due to her hard work and dedication she secured 116 rank in UPSC exam 2019.

Passed UPSC in 4th attempt

IAS officer Anamika Ramesh took inspiration from her father Ramesh Chand Meena, who cleared the civil services exam in the third attempt. His journey inspired Anamika to follow a similar path. After securing an All India rank of 116 in her fourth attempt in the 2019 UPSC examination, she was allotted the Tamil Nadu cadre. Anamika remained committed throughout her preparation, believing that the Civil Services journey is challenging but can be overcome with perseverance and patience.

Her father, Ramesh Chand Meena, an IIT-Delhi graduate, is currently serving as Member Secretary of the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu (SDATN). His success and guidance were major influences in Anamika's career path.

IAS officer Anamika's journey before joining civil service

IAS officer Anamika Ramesh has an impressive professional journey before joining the civil services. She initially worked as an intern in a private sector sales marketing company and later worked as an associate in Transaction Advisory Services at EY (Ernst & Young). After clearing the UPSC exam, her first posting was as Assistant Collector. After that, she worked as an Assistant Secretary at NITI Aayog and later as Deputy Collector at the Chair of Tamil Nadu. She also assumed the role of National Level Master Trainer at the Election Commission of India. Presently Anamika is holding the post of Additional Collector in Chengalpattu, Tamil Nadu.
