New Delhi: South Delhi Superstars thrashed North Delhi Strikers by 112 runs in the ongoing Adani Delhi Premier League T20 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Saturday thanks to a record knock by their captain Ayush Badoni and opener Priyansh Arya.

Set a mammoth target of 309, the South Delhi superstar restricted the North Delhi Strikers to 196/8 in the allotted 20 overs and not only won the match but booked their place in the semi-finals of the tournament.

For North Delhi Strikers, their skipper Pranshu Vijayaran put up a lone fight and scored 62 runs off 32 balls with 8 fours and 4 sixes. Also, Yajas Sharma scored 32 (18), while Vaibhav Rawal, who came in as an influential player, scored 32 off 14 balls. In the 12th over bowled by Manan Bhardwaj, Arya showed a brilliant display of aggressive batting and destroyed the opposition bowling by hitting six sixes in a row. He completed his century in just 40 balls—further cementing his reputation as the tournament's second-ever match-winner.

Meanwhile, Ayush Badoni was in sublime form, matching Arya's aggression with a powerpack innings of his own. He completed the century in just 39 balls, holding the record for the fastest century in the tournament. Badoni's ruthless batting continued as he hit four consecutive sixes in the 19th over, eventually completing 165 off just 55 balls at a fantastic strike rate of 300. His innings included 8 fours and an incredible 19 sixes, setting a new record. Most sixes in a T20 match by an individual. Badoni's remarkable score of 165 is also the third highest individual score in T20 cricket history.

Shortly after Badoni's dismissal, Priyansh Arya also scored 120 off 50 balls with 10 fours and 10 sixes at a strike rate of 240. Their breathtaking partnership allowed the South Delhi superstar to post a massive 308/5 in their allotted 20 overs, which is now the second highest in T20 history and the only other instance of over 300 runs in T20. innings

Adding to the record-breaking feat, the superstar combined to hit a whopping 31 sixes in their innings, setting the record for most sixes by a team in a single T20I innings.
