Andy Murray announces retirement with Paris Olympics 2024 as Englishman's final tennis event
Andy Murray will retire after the 2024 Paris Olympics, ending his career with a fifth Olympics.

New Delhi: Former world No. 1 Andy Murray confirmed via a social media post on Tuesday that he will retire from tennis after the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The 37-year-old Scot, who made his Olympic debut at the Beijing Games in 2008, plans to play singles and doubles in Paris, which will be his fifth Games.
“Just came to Paris for my last tennis tournament,” Murray wrote on X.
“Competing for Team GB has been one of the most memorable weeks of my career so far and I'm so proud to do it for the final time!” he added.
The Briton won his first Olympic singles gold at the 2012 London Olympics, where he defeated Swiss legend Roger Federer in straight games.
At the Rio 2016 Games, he became the first male tennis player to win two Olympic singles gold medals, defeating Argentina's Juan Martin del Potro.
Tennis action in Paris begins on July 27 at Roland Garros and ends on August 4, with the medal rounds starting on August 2.
