New Delhi: Former Kolkata Knight Riders head coach Gautam Gambhir on Tuesday paid an emotional tribute to all KKR fans through a two-minute and 30-second video as he embarked on a new journey with the Indian cricket team. After returning as a mentor to KKR for IPL 2024, the Kolkata-based franchise won their third IPL title, thus paving the way for Gambhir to be considered the perfect fit to replace Rahul Dravid as the head coach of the Indian cricket team.
Notably, under Gambhir's leadership, KKR won two IPL titles in 2012 and 2014. Incidentally, the southpaw, who has been a part of two World Cup winners, couldn't say no to the India job, leading him to quit his favorite IPL franchise. A year in guidance.
