6 Major Cuts From Prabhas Epic Blockbuster Disappoints Fans
Soon after the release of Kalki 2898 AD on OTT, fans expressed their displeasure over the cuts from the Prabhas starrer.
Prabhas' epic blockbuster, Kalki 2898 ADWhich stormed the theaters on June 27, 2024, has now landed on OTT platforms in multiple languages. Directed by Nag Ashwin, the film is available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video and Netflix. Fans quickly noticed that the OTT version was less than 5 minutes long, with a runtime of 2 hours and 55 minutes compared to the original theatrical release, which ran for just over 3 hours. Die-hard fans of the film took to social media to express their dismay, several scenes of Prabhas, as well as some memorable moments that hit the theaters, were cut from the OTT version.
While Netflix offers only the Hindi version, Amazon Prime Video offers movies in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. Interestingly, the OTT version has been trimmed by around 6 minutes from the original runtime of 3 hours and 1 minute, coming to 2 hours and 55 minutes.

- The interlude scene where Deepika Padukone walks through a fiery tunnel now includes new lyrics for Kalki's theme and the interlude card has been removed entirely.
- Minor changes were also made to the dubbing for a smoother viewing experience.

It hurts me a lot when… Amit ji is absolutely unbelievable.” He expressed his disappointment with Prabhas' character saying, “Prabhas, I am really sad. Why was he portrayed as a clown? I was expecting a Mad Max vibe, something like Mel Gibson. What have they done? I don't understand why they make that choice.”
