New Vande Bharat Express Trains: In a significant development, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to inaugurate three new Vande Bharat Express trains today. These trains will increase India's rail connectivity in key states like Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. This inauguration is a significant moment in the expansion of the Vande Bharat network, which has now expanded to over 280 districts across the country. PM Modi will flag off these three new Vande Bharat trains at 12:30 PM. “These new Vande Bharat trains will provide a world-class means of travel to the people of the region in speed and comfort and will cater to the three states of Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka,” the government said in a press release.

  1. Chennai Central to Nagercoil Vande Bharat Express
  2. Madurai to Bangalore Cantonment Vande Bharat Express
  3. Meerut City to Lucknow Vande Bharat Express

Chennai Central to Nagercoil Vande Bharat Express: Route, Stops and Timings

  • The train to Nagercoil will initially depart from Chennai Central but will run regularly from Chennai Egmore. It will run every day except Wednesday.
  • This Vande Bharat train service will facilitate pilgrims going to Arulmigu Meenakshi Amman Temple, Madurai and Kumari Amman Temple, Kanniyakumari.
  • Train No. 20627 will depart from Chennai Egmore at 5:00 AM and reach Sutel, Nagercoil at 1:50 PM. Major stops include Tambaram, Villupuram, Tiruchirappalli, Dindigul, Madurai, Kovilpatti and Tirunelveli. The return train (No. 20628) will leave Nagercoil at 2:20 PM and reach Chennai at 11:00 PM.

Madurai to Bangalore Cantonment Vande Bharat Express: Route, Stops and Timings

  • Vande Bharat train will run six days a week except Tuesday between Madurai and Bengaluru Cantonment.
  • This Vande Bharat Seva will connect the bustling temple city of Madurai in Tamil Nadu with the cosmopolitan city of Bengaluru, the capital of the state of Karnataka.
  • Train No. 20671 will depart from Madurai at 5:15 AM and will reach Bengaluru Cantonment at 1 PM with stops at Dindugal, Tiruchirappalli, Karur, Namakkal, Salem and Krishnarajapuram. In turn (Train No. 20672), it will leave Bangalore at 1:30 PM. , arriving at Madurai at 9:45 PM.

Meerut City to Lucknow Vande Bharat Express: Route, Stops and Timings

  • The train will start regular service from Lucknow on Sunday and Meerut on Monday, operating six days a week except Tuesday.
  • The service is expected to boost religious tourism by providing faster access to pilgrimage sites such as Digambar Jain Temple, Mansa Devi Temple, Surajkund Temple and Augharnath Temple.
  • Train No. 22490 will depart Meerut at 6:35 AM, stop at Moradabad and Bareilly and reach Lucknow's Charbagh Railway Station at 1:45 PM. The return journey (Train No. 22489) will depart from Lucknow at 2:45 PM, reaching Meerut City at 10:00 PM.

Ever since its debut, the Vande Bharat Express has come to symbolize India's aspirations for comfortable speed, luxurious rail travel. This indigenously developed train was first introduced on 15 February 2019 under the 'Make in India' initiative.

“Today, more than 100 Vande Bharat Express train services are operating across the country, extending connectivity to over 280 districts and transforming the travel experience of millions,” the Railway Ministry said.
