The Indian trio of Dheeraj, Praveen and Tarundeep lost to the Turks 2-6 (53-57, 52-55, 55-54, 54-58) in the QF.

Paris: The Indian men's archery team of Tarundeep Rai, Dheeraj Bommadewara and Praveen Jadhav lost to Turkey 2-6 in the quarterfinals and crashed out of the Paris Olympics on Monday. Bommadewara and the experienced Rai were the Indian team's weakest links as Jadhav scored the most points in the quarterfinals. India lost the opening two sets as Turkey's young trio came out all guns blazing.

However, the Indians came back in the third set and won the next set 55-54. The Turk won the match comfortably with a scoreline of 57-53, 55-52, 54-55, 58-54.

Bommadewara hit seven in the first end and completed it in 10 overs, while Rai managed just nine and eight in the two rounds. The Turks had four arrows in the 10-point zone while the Indians had just two. In the second set, Rai hit two eights, Jadhav hit 10 and 1 nine while Bommadewara hit eight and nine.

He did well in the third set with two 10s, three 9s and an eight while Turkey's Berkim Toomer shot seven. Bommadewara hit seven in the fourth set, ending India's hopes.

The Indian women's archery team of Ankita Bhakat, Bhajan Kaur and Deepika Kumari lost to the Netherlands in the quarterfinals on Sunday, ending their campaign.

After a disappointing performance, the Indian team lost to the Dutch team 51-52, 49-54, 48-53. Ankita and Deepika failed to handle the pressure as they couldn't get their shots from the start and the team trailed 51-52 in the opening set.

They went down in the set after Ankita and Deepika finished off two six-point shots to finish 54-49, trailing the Dutch team 0-4.

Ankita's costly four-point error in the third set added to the misery and ended India's hopes of reaching the semi-finals as the 12th-seeded Netherlands won the match 6-0 against India in the fourth.

The Indian women's team qualified for the quarterfinals by finishing fourth in the qualifiers.
