Paris Olympics 2024: Vinesh Phogat makes history, leads India to a wrestling medal

Paris: Vinesh Phogat created history in the French capital on Tuesday as she defeated Cuba's Lopez Guzman to enter the final of the women's 50 kg category and ensure India at least a silver medal at the Paris Olympics 2024. Notably, Vinesh became the second Indian woman wrestler to win the medal. Sakshi Malik became the first Indian woman to win a medal at the Olympics by bagging a bronze medal at the 2016 Rio Games. She became the first Indian woman wrestler to enter the finals of the Olympics.
