Paris: American swimmer Ryan Murphy received a special surprise from his pregnant wife Bridget Continen after winning bronze in the men's 100m backstroke at the Paris 2024 Olympics, his third Olympic medal.
After Murphy finished third in the 100-meter backstroke and received a bronze medal, his wife, who was in the stands, exclaimed, “Ryan's a girl!” revealed the gender of their baby with a handwritten sign that read.
Murphy's bronze medal is his seventh overall, making him one of the most decorated Olympians of all time. He is a four-time Olympic gold medalist and former world record holder in the men's 100m backstroke.

Ryan is currently trying to become the first male swimmer to medal in both the 100m and 200m backstroke at three consecutive Olympics.
He will return to the pool on Wednesday to swim the men's 200m backstroke.
