Paris Olympics 2024: Saikhom Mirabai Chanu misses out on medal after finishing fourth in weightlifting

Paris: Saikhom Mirabai Chanu finished fourth as she missed out on a weightlifting medal in the women's 49kg final at the ongoing Paris Olympics 2024 on Thursday. One of India's top medal contenders, Meerabai Chanu, began by lifting 85kg in the snatch before her second attempt was counted as zero. and zero. She lifted 88 kg in her third attempt. The lifter has kept a low profile since suffering from hip tendonitis during the Asian Games last October, including a silver medal that led India to shine on the first day of competition at the Tokyo Olympics. Mirabai Chanu has faced a very short Olympic cycle due to injuries and workload management.
