Kannada actor Darshan files petition in Karnataka High Court, demands clothes, home-cooked food, bed in jail

Kannada actor, Darshan Thogudepa, who is currently in Bengaluru police custody in connection with Renukaswamy's murder, has approached the Karnataka High Court. Since Darshan was the prime suspect in Renukaswamy's murder, the actor was arrested from his farm house on June 11 and since then Darshan has been in police custody. Thugudeepa, who has spent almost a month now, has petitioned for things like silverware, clothes, bed sheets and read books. His letter highlights the weight loss due to the challenge of eating and breaking down food provided in prison. He also battled diarrhea that the prison's medical team believed could be food poisoning. Basing his letter on the basis of Section 30 of the Karnataka Prisons Act, 1963, he points out that prisoners are allowed these essentials only after inspection and approval by the Inspector General of Prisons. However, it is important to note that the court is yet to hear the darshan petition.
Regarding the Renukaswamy murder case
According to a report released by police officials, there was a disturbing situation involving a 33-year-old man named Renukaswamy. He was known to be an admirer of the actor, however, his disturbing behavior caused him to send offensive messages to Darshan's friend Pavitra Gowda, who is now embroiled in the case. Darshan reacts strongly to his actions, which unfortunately results in a gruesome turn of events – his untimely death. On June 9, his lifeless body was found near a storm water drain, beside an apartment in Sumanahalli, Bengaluru.
Raghavendra, a part of Darshan's fan club in Chitradurga, duped Renukaswamy by promising to meet the actor at a shed in RR Nagar. Unfortunately, this was the place where Renukaswamy was subjected to brutal treatment, which led to his untimely death on 8 June.
According to the post-mortem report, Renukaswamy, a native of Chitradurga, died of shock and internal bleeding due to sustained blunt force injuries.
According to a police statement, Pavitra, who was identified as the prime suspect, played a key role in Renukaswamy's murder. She has not only influenced others but actively participated in the planning and execution of the crime.
