CUET UG result may be delayed Delhi University first year semester to start from August 16: Vice-Chancellor
CUET UG Result 2024: The National Testing Agency (NTA) will announce the CUET UG Result soon. The information bulletin of NTA has given 30th June as the date for the declaration of CUET-UG result. However, the NTA CUET result was not published on June 30. Meanwhile, the start of semester for first-year students of Delhi University (DU) is likely to be postponed till August 16, as the Centre's release has been delayed. The University Entrance Test (CUET-UG) result was announced by Vice Chancellor Yogesh Singh on Saturday.
Initially scheduled to start from August 1, the delay in the declaration of results has affected the academic calendar. Vice-Chancellor Singh said that classes for other semesters will start on August 1 as scheduled. Academic session 2024-24 Semester 3 and 5 undergraduate programs classes will start from August 1 as per schedule. Meanwhile, semester classes 2 and 4 undergraduate programs will be held from January 2, 2025.
The NTA is currently grappling with allegations of paper leaks involving NEET-UG and UGC-NET, which has delayed the CUET-UG results. Delay in results is likely to affect admissions in many universities.
Speaking to news agency ANI, DU Vice-Chancellor Yogesh Singh said, “The result has not been declared, but it will affect the academic calendar of first semester students in courses admitted through CUET-UG. The semester is likely to start on August 16. For other semesters we will start the semester on August 1.”
Asked whether the university has received any communication from the embattled National Testing Agency (NTA), which runs CUET UG, Singh told news agency ANI, “We have not received any communication from the National Testing Agency (NTA) in this regard. results.”
Under the Ministry of Education, (MoE) Common University Entrance Test (CUET) is being launched for admission to all UG programs in all Central Universities for the academic session 2024-25. The Common University Entrance Test (CUET) will provide a common platform and equal opportunities to candidates across the country, particularly those from rural and other remote areas, and help establish better relationships with universities. In simple words, the exam serves as the primary entrance exam for undergraduate programs in 46 central universities.
The National Testing Agency conducted the CUET (UG) – 2024 examination in hybrid mode (CBT and pen and paper) mode on 15, 16, 17, 18, 21, 22, 24 and 29 May 2024 at 379 different examination centers. Cities including 26 cities outside India, for around 13.48 lakh candidates.
Delay in declaration of CUET-UG result will affect the admission schedule of all participating universities. For instance, DU had planned to open its phase two admission portal by July 2 to fill 71,000 seats based on CUET-UG scores. As lakhs of students and 261 universities, including central universities like DU, Allahabad University and Banaras Hindu University (BHU), await the results of CUET-UG 2024 to start the undergraduate admission process, University Grants Commission (UGC) chief M Jagdesh Kumar NTA has announced the results as soon as possible. It has been confirmed that it is working to announce.
