Center issues cyber crime alert against 'CashExpand-U Finance Assistant'
In FY23, there were 1,062 complaints against such apps. Last year, the finance ministry had shared this figure in the Lok Sabha.
New Delhi: The Center has warned against CashExpand-U Finance Assistant, an online loan app. Cyber Dost, the government's cyber crime department, has issued a warning against the CashExpand-U finance assistant app on its official X handle. It is important to note that the app has been removed from above Google Play Store.

“The loan app is believed to be hosted by hostile foreign entities,” the post said. Cyberdhost mentions that these apps belong to foreign organizations. Users should immediately remove the CashExpand -U finance assistant app from their electronic devices to ensure their data is not compromised.
