IRCTC Account: The Indian Railways Tuesday termed as “false and deceptive” a viral social media rumor which claimed that an IRCTC account holder can’t guide e-tickets for different individuals who have a distinct surname. In an announcement, a Railway Ministry spokesperson busted this delusion, stating that anybody who has an IRCTC account can guide e-tickets for others, no matter their surname.

“The information in circulation on social media about restriction in reserving of e-tickets attributable to totally different surname is fake and deceptive,” the spokesperson mentioned whereas responding to posts on X which claimed that IRCTC account holders can’t guide tickets from their account for pals, household, and many others, having totally different surnames.

The ministry spokesperson clarified that tickets are booked on the IRCTC web site in accordance with Railway Board tips and all data concerning these tips is on the market within the public area.

What Indian Railways says?
