Of the 4.33 crore college students enrolled in 2021-22, 15.3% belong to Scheduled Caste, 6.3% belong to Scheduled Tribe, 37.8% are from Different Backward Class, and remaining 40.6%
college students are from different communities.

In 26 States/UTs feminine GER is bigger than male GER.

Self-discipline-wise Enrolment at Below Graduate degree: Highest enrolment amongst all is within the Arts self-discipline

The very best enrolment amongst all is within the Arts self-discipline with 1.13 crore college students, out of which 51% are feminine and 49% are male. Science self-discipline has 49.18 lakh college students enrolled (of which 50.8% are feminine are 49.2% are male). There are 44.08 lakh college students enrolled within the Commerce self-discipline (of which 47.2% are feminine and 52.8% are male college students). Equally, Engineering & Know-how has 39.04 lakh enrolled college students out of which 29.1% are feminine and 70.9% are male.

“Below Training self-discipline 17.19 lakh college students are enrolled out of which 62.4% are females and 37.6% are male college students. Below Medical Science self-discipline there are 17.05 lakh college students with 57.6% females and 42.4% male college students,” reads the report.

Self-discipline-wise Enrolment at Put up Graduate degree

At Put up Graduate degree, most variety of college students are enrolled in Social Science stream (10.8 lakh of which 56.6% are feminine and 43.4% are male college students) adopted by Science and Administration.

“The overall college students enrolled in Science self-discipline is 7.5 lakh (out of which 61.2% are feminine college students and 38.8% are male). Whole enrolment in Administration stream is 7.3 lakh (of which 41.9% are feminine and 58.1% are male),” learn the report.
